DEPLOYMENT TEAM

As we all know, the Apostle Paul and other Bible writers tell us that we as Christians are in a battle, and most of our experience bears this out.  In the
overall picture of the American Christian world, missionaries and church
planters, among others, are viewed as warriors dropped behind enemy
lines.  In many ways they are.

Every army has what can be referred to as a
Deployment Team.  Often it
goes by other names, but since battles and wars began, there have been
those individuals who take the responsibility to take care of all the details
needed for the boots on the ground of their warriors.  History tells us that the
soldiers of Alexander the Great had to carry all their own supplies on their
backs or heads for rapid deployment.  This was certainly one of the reasons
for their victories, but history also tells us that essentially an entire city
followed in their wake for replenishment and support.   This was a part of
their deployment team.  We are told that in modern armed forces, the more
that a unit is mechanized, the more people it takes to put a warrior on the
front lines.  A fighter pilot would be a good example of how much backing
each warrior takes.

The term “Deployment Team” works as well to describe the people
who are behind the scenes doing what it takes to get a missionary
warrior with boots on the ground.

For this reason, we are choosing to call those of you who will participate with
us in this fund, our Deployment Team.  Let me describe:

When we have a missionary church planter ready, trained, assessed,
cleared, approved and appointed, we need to put them on the field as
quickly as possible.  That is where you can help in a very tangible way.  At
that point, we will send you a profile of the pending church planter
deployment, and
ask you to send $100 within 30 days.  Now your $100 by
itself may not go that far, but alongside of 500 other people also giving $100
in the same month for the same deployment… well, you can see how it
works.  The combined $50,000 goes a very long way in birthing a body of
believers as a new church plant.

In this matter of deployment, it will be our responsibility and commitment to
call on you
no more than twice a year, and only if everything is ready for the
deployment of a church planting couple into a strategic place.  Your
responsibility, on the other hand, will be to trust God for your committed $100
portion within those thirty days.  We must insist, however, that Deployment
Team contributions are not given from that which is committed to your local
church.  We will defeat the purpose if your church gets robbed in the
process.  A further responsibility for you as a member of the Deployment
Team will be to take your deployment profile and begin to pray for your
warrior family and the church plant you are now a participant with.

Please contact us through the
Contact Us page here on this site. Your
contribution to the deployment, along with everyone else’s, will be managed
and distributed by Missions Door as agreed upon and appropriate.

Through RMCN

The Rocky Mountain Church Network Association supports and develops church ministry in Rocky Mountain states.  They contribute substantially in several ways to
church planting in the region
.

I believe that every church should contribute to church planting at least the
basic amount that they give to other missionaries.  My reasoning for this is
that church planting is a wonderful new source for future missions.  Nation
wide the American church is closing at roughly the rate of 3500 churches a
year.  Each closure ends that church’s mission contribution.  Each church
plant effectively begins a new source for missions funding.

You can contribute to them by making checks payable to RMCN and marked
for “Church Planting”.  You can learn more about them at
